Patients Skip Colon Cancer Screenings Because of Obesity Stigma
People who are overweight or obese may skip life-saving cancer screenings because they fear their doctor’s judgment.
Colorectal cancer numbers are rising for people younger than 50. Early detection is key to detect or even prevent the disease.

Learn MoreHaving to go through a colonoscopy is not enjoyable but I must have it done every 5 years due to 3 generations of colon cancer in my family. I’ve been to Redding Endo Center for 3 of my procedures and each time I have felt very well taken care of, from the front desk when I walk in to being escorted to my car. The nurses, anesthesiologist, gastroenterologist, everyone was informative, kind and prompt. I’m sure glad I don’t have to go through that again until 2027 but when it’s time, I’m sure to go right back to REC.
I had a colonoscopy last week the REC (Redding Endoscopy Center) it was my first time. Everyone that I came in contact with was wonderful and put me at ease, they were kind and caring. The procedure painless. I went to sleep and when I woke up the procedure was complete. I know when I must have this procedure again I'll want to come back to REC. Thank you. Ms.G.R.Todd
They are extremely organized but also kind and caring. Everything they did made the whole process as easy as this kind of thing could be.
